“Edge of Europe: Hike Through Setomaa”

Welcome to Setomaa – a remote borderland where deep forests meet ancient traditions. This two-day guided hike takes you off the beaten path, along forest trails where silence becomes your companion and every step reveals a story.

Duration: 2 days
Season: March to October
Minimum group size: 4 people

Accommodation: One night in a cozy, authentic forest cabin – simple, serene, and surrounded by nature.

Evening sauna: Relax in a traditional Seto-style smoke sauna after the hike – included in the price.

Distance: ~10–15 km per day (moderate pace)

Luggage: Daypack only – overnight gear is transported or minimal

What to bring: Comfortable hiking clothes, water bottle, swimwear/towel for sauna

Day-by-Day Itinerary:

1. day - Meeting point arranged based on your travel – easy and flexible.

   We begin our journey by stepping into the calm of Setomaa’s ancient forests.
   Our trail leads us through peaceful woodland paths and soft peat bogs.

   In the late afternoon, we arrive at a cozy forest cabin. After settling in, we share a warm local dinner and heat up the sauna.

2. day - After breakfast in the stillness of the forest, we begin our walk back along a different route, following sandy forest roads and passing a few local farmsteads.

   The landscape slowly shifts from deep silence to the gentle rhythm of rural life – a beautiful contrast that lets you feel both solitude and connection.

   We finish the hike in the early afternoon, and you’ll be transferred back to your starting point or next destination.

You can reach the starting point by public transport (we’re happy to help you find the best route). If coming by car, you can leave your vehicle in the parking area.
